We handle the heavy earthwork and the finish work ourselves, in the order the job needs them. Here is the ground each covers.

Excavation
We clear the lot and cut it to grade — trees and stumps out, drainage in, the site made ready for whatever is going on it next.
It is where most of our jobs start, and it is the work the owner is in the seat for.

Sand, Rock & Gravel
We deliver material across Snohomish County and spread it as we go — one reviewer put it as driving the gravel out so it needs less raking.
From crushed rock and pea gravel to fill sand, rockery rock and topsoil, by the load.

Building Northwest is a full-service general contractor as well as an excavator. We take a project through the heavy earthwork and the finish construction — custom homes, additions, remodels inside and out — so you are not handing off between trades or chasing a second company to close the job.
It is a small, owner-operated shop, but the range is not small. Over 30 years we have handled work most local excavators pass on.

Building Northwest is family-run out of Snohomish, Washington. Robert Metcalf runs the work as General Manager and Partner; Sundi Babbel Metcalf is Owner and Partner. Between them the company has been in the trade for more than thirty years.
